Maluku Islands

Maluku islands, formerly known as Spice Islands, and was named so due to its richness in the spices. During those times, here was the source of nutmeg and cloves which are highly aromatic. Much of these spices were also used as medication. Maluku islands is but a cluster of more than a thousand islands around here. the population here is slightly less than 1.7 million people and most transport modes here are sea and air. Road transports are scarce and here hosts 32 seaports and 20 airports.

Located among the various flora and fauna of Australian and Asian species, Maluku hosts a tropical climate that includes various types of birds, trees and flowers. Its food plantation of sago and spices like coffee and cocoa and very importantly their coconuts are very much sought after.

Maluku is capitaled via Ambon, coverer a lot by mountains and islands. Its administration is divided into four regencies and one city (the capital Ambon), namely the West-Southeast Maluku regency with 5 districts and over 180 villages, the Buru regency holds 3 districts, Southeast Maluku regency that holds 8 districts, the Central Maluku regency that has 15 districts and nearly 300 villages and Ambon city that has 3 districts.
